Rabat - A Lidl franchise in France has been marred in controversy following accusations from customers who suggested that the supermarket has been mislabeling Israeli products as Moroccan to mitigate the impact of boycotts against Israeli products.
Lidl, the German international discount retailer chain, is operating in many locations worldwide, notably in Europe and the US.
Many people have shared a video of a customer warning other clients to pay attention to the labels while shopping.
The video documents the customer showing avocado products labeled as “from Morocco.” Upon inspecting the box, the label shows that the product is actually from Israel.
Upon fact-checking, one of the videos was discovered to date back to February and older tweets from 2020 resurfaced, expressing similar concerns from customers.
Many other netizens have asserted that the issue is still persisting.
“Same thing [happend to me] this morning at the Lidl in Vallauris in 06 - avocados from Morocco on the store label, and on the avocado, an Israeli label. These scammers, you really have to be careful before buying,” an X user wrote on November 8. “I think there are plenty of stores doing this to sell their stocks.”
Another X user also posted a video about the situation, calling on fellow customers to be “wary of false displays in Lidl ad Carrefour supermarkets.”
“The boycott is working so well that these supermarkets label products as coming from Africa or Morocco instead of Israel. Check the packaging and report it to fraud control authorities,” the user added.

CARREFOUR • ERIC SOHN
Tumblr media
MEMBER tbz eric
WORD COUNT 1.1K+
GENRE fairy!au, fantasy, romance
which is better, or which is worse? having no power among those who do or having your power used against you?
PREV PART | NEXT PART
He sets foot into the small town once the tint of orange of the sky fades into those of wisterias, along with the other townspeople starting their busy day.
Ulfora, his journey here last night was smooth, much to his relief. The moon was on his side. The tides seemed to abide by his course, remaining calm and dormant, ensuring his journey underwater to be so waveless it was almost odd, but he believes the protection of the celestial being along with the blessing of the full moon.
Eric opted for a journey by sea to the corner of the kingdom, in his quest of fulfilling the king’s order. He needs his identity to remain a secret, and travelling by land will do least to nothing at keeping his identity under wraps.
He’s the most aware of the temperament of the ocean; the rise and recede of tides along with the people of the water, which makes the ocean by far the safest path for him to trek.
Dressed in plain tunics with a leather satchel latched across his shoulder, Eric succeeds at fitting in among the people of Ulfora, looking like much of a commoner rather than royalty himself.
His first stop is at the small eatery located at the hollowed-out tree trunks. Owned by an elf, Eric assumes. Besides stuffing his stomach, he wants to wend his way across the town to every place that has highly likely been trodden by the person he’s looking for.
Settling by the window, his assumption is made certain as he registers that most of the workers at the eatery are elves, while some of them being the vampires.
The customers entering and exiting the eatery are of all races; there are elves, vampires, and even the werewolves. Everyone is interacting in harmony; smiles could be seen plastered on their faces, they are even sharing tables. And the least that some of them do are minding their own business.
Segregation of races is non-existent. Their relationships are valued beyond their differences. Despite being a small town cloistered far at the edge of the country, the people seem to be much more accepting and unprejudiced towards each other.
Only if the people of the royal town were like this.
“Can I get your order?”
Eric is put out of his trance when a waiter approaches his table. His eyes register the appearance of the waiter before him. Black hair, hazel irises, sienna skin.
Not the one.
The waiter’s wings twitch ever so slightly but don’t go unnoticed by Eric. A sign of uneasiness.
“Mister?”
He cleared his throat as he realised he stared a little bit too long.
Not so courteous, Eric.
“Sorry. Um, may I have buttered toast with avocado and a soft poached egg? And also hot chocolate.”
“That’s all?” The wooden pencil in her grasp dances swiftly across the vellum in her other hand, jotting his order down.
“Yeah, that’s it. Thank you.”
He runs his hand through his brown locks, his shoulders sagging against the hard chair.
Pull yourself together, Eric. You got this.
>>>
He walks in and out of every store in the town, pretending to window shop and asking around for things while his eyes are scanning the faces of every people he stumbled across. He even purchased a few things to avoid suspicions, but he is yet to find the elf he’s been looking for.
He continues his walk, now aimless, but his hopes are still high. It's only his first day here, and he had only been to the town. He has not yet meandered around the housing area. He will surely find the elf, sooner or later.
As he walks past the rows of shops, he notices that the people passing him were staring, and they do little to hide it. The conversation between them comes to a halt as their eyes lay down on him, which is then followed by whispers among them.
He soon registers that a fairy walking around this town is not something common. The fairies are the rare inhabitants of this corner of the kingdom, so his presence is very much easily noticed.
That is when loneliness catches him in its embrace. He has always been on his own in the palace which made him used to the feeling. But now even in the crowds, he’s alone, and the feeling thickens.
He shrugs it off, not wanting the emotion to take control of him.
I came here for a reason. He reminds himself.
He continues walking until the number of shops decreases and the greeneries condensate. He then hears the soft sound of waves crashing upon the shore before the body of salty water comes into his sight.
“Whoa.” He didn’t notice that the sea is that majestic last night that he was there. Now that he is here in broad daylight, Eric is beyond astonished.
It takes a good few minutes of walking to get there, which explains how void the ocean is of any creature. Being alone with the clear sky roofing above his head and warm waves nibbling at his feet, allows him to think, to fully be with nature.
Eric takes his time to really take in the sight before him. The thistle sky blends into alice blue where it kisses the water. He settles into a spot on the seaboard, allowing himself to be engulfed in the warmth of the sand against his skin.
The beach was separated by a layer of lush foliage from the town, making it a perfect spot to escape from the busyness trap of day-to-day life and seek solace.
Welcome back.
Eric is dragged out of his stupor when he heard it, sending his head swivelling to the side. It was too loud to be a whisper yet only loud enough for him to hear it.
He looks around to see no one else but him along the coastline. He is certain that he was not being delirious. The whisper was prominent enough for him to be hallucinating.
Eric rises to his feet, glancing around to see no one else but himself along the stretch of the coast.
Let’s end this.
The calm waves before him suddenly become choppy, the serenity is now gone. The waves are screaming, seeming so turbulent as if it is going to pull everything in their way with them.
Let’s end this. The whisper reverberates within him, and though confusion latches its fingers on his mind, he doesn’t seem to question it. Eric doesn’t move a muscle, as if his feet were nailed down in the coarse sand.
He takes in the chaos before him, but he does nothing, entranced. The nearby trees fail to oppose the course of blowing wind thus tumbling upon each other, and the crashing sound drags Eric back to his senses. Only then, terror strikes.

1. Marcher en tenant son portable côté mur
Tumblr media

By keeping up with the BDS boycott and boycotting Carrefour and all of its stupid little subsidiaries i effectively now live in a food desert (I’ve mentioned before there’s only one other supermarket chain really and none happen to be located near me??) and that just goes to show how absolutely fucked up monopolization really is and how places like Carrefour (and Carrefour Market and Mia C’bon) should be permanently boycotted….

PXmart, Carrefour, and Simple Mart are the major supermarket chains in Taiwan that are commonly seen in cities. However, the strategy of these brands is very different. PXmart has the most locations and can be found in rural areas. Carrefour stores were mostly found in city centers, whereas Simple Mart was mostly on the periphery.

I woke up at 1pm. Housekeeping were banging on my door and I’d lost the morning. If I were to be professional I would say that I had jet lag. If I were to be honest, I had too many strawberry juices in the Old Town last night.
I walked the streets to find the closest thing to breakfast at 2pm and found a Starbucks. Making up for lost time I made my way to the Museum of National Art. Just outside the Old Town I stopped to admire a church. I decided to enter and was kindly welcomed in. I completed a questionnaire about trying to increase church tourism in Romania and explored the Orthodox Church for a while before striking up conversation with a lady volunteering and asked a few questions. She was more than happy to answer my questions and enlightened me on the history of religion in Romania. It turns out that most Christians in Romania are Greek Orthodox. Thinking about it, Greece isn’t that far away. The conversation was interesting but went on for an hour. An elderly lady who had come to pray was not happy about us speaking so loudly and said that she prayed for us or something of the like. Speaking quieter, I was educated on the history of the saints. Particularly focus was put on St Nicholas. Then the topic of music came up. At this point we left the church and stood on the steps, where she played me a hymn sung in Romanian on her phone and translated every line. The song lasted for 4 minutes and 44 seconds…We said our goodbyes and I made my way to the National Museum of Art. I learnt a lot about religion in Romania from our conversation and also discovered that most of the tourist attractions are located on one long road called Calea Victoriei.
Walking up Calea Victoriei, I discovered grand buildings from Bucharests golden era built in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. It felt like Budapest or Paris. Well, it turns out that many of the buildings in Bucharest are designed by a French architects or at the very least inspired by them. This is why it is referred to as Little Paris.
I made it to the National Museum of Art which was located in one of the grand buildings. There were two sections to it, Romanian Art and European Art. The exhibits were impressive and I enjoyed my visit but I am mainly interested in 20th Century art. The art on display was predominantly from the 16th and 17th centuries.
A short walk up the road I found the Romanian Athenaeum, a Neoclassical concert hall built in 1888. The interior was one of the most beautiful things that I have ever seen. I took my seat and enjoyed watching and listening to a youth orchestra rehearsing. The acoustics were amazing!
I made my way back to my hotel to freshen up for the evening and stopped off at Carrefour on my way. Placing most of my purchases in my small brown bag, I ended up setting the alarm off and being stopped by the security guard. How would I convince someone who didn’t speak English that I hadn’t been shoplifting. Thankfully I had a receipt. After a unnecessary momentarily panic the guard waved me on my way. I made my way back to my hotel where I freshened up for the evening.
The Old Town on a Friday and Saturday night is absolute carnage. Like many Eastern European cities, it is somewhat spoilt by the vast amount of stag parties who dominate the city at weekends. Nevertheless it is a fun night out. Most people were in large groups making it hard to break into, so it’s not the best location for a solo traveller, but it was fun.
In the early hours I strolled back to my hotel. As soon as you get outside the Old Town you realise that everyone is poorly maintained and falling apart. Newly bricked roads suddenly turn into quick sand whilst the gradient of the pavements ascends and descends with the elevation of Everest. A few steps from my hotel I tripped over an unstable paving block and fell straight down. The situation wasn’t helped by the lack of lighting. I lay on the floor for a while waiting for the ref to signal foal play, but justice didn’t arrive. My only comfort came from a lady further down the street who called to me “are you ok”. I was ok, but I had experienced the greatest fall in Bucharest since the fall of communism.

TL;DR if you are a consumer, definitely boycott the following:
-Siemens (electrical appliances)
-PUMA (sports shoes)
-Carrefour (retail corporation. No locations in the US)
-AXA (French insurance company)
-HP Inc. (technology, US)
-SodaStream
-Ahava (cosmetics)
-RE/MAX (real estate company)
-produce at supermarkets labeled “product of Israel”
Grassroots organic targets (“if boycotts are not already organically active in your area, focus your efforts towards the strategic campaigns above”)
-McDonald’s (US)
-Burger King (US)
-Papa John’s (US)
-Pizza Hut (US)
-WIX (Israel)
What to boycott NOW to help stop Israel’s unfolding genocide of Palestinians in Gaza
Reminder that boycotting DOES work, there is historic proof! Don't let anyone discourage you otherwise!
The BDS movement uses the historically successful method of targeted boycotts inspired by the South African anti-apartheid movement, the US Civil Rights movement, the Indian anti-colonial struggle, among others worldwide.
We must strategically focus on a relatively smaller number of carefully selected companies and products for maximum impact. Companies that play a clear and direct role in Israel’s crimes and where there is real potential for winning, as was the case with, among others, G4S, Veolia, Orange, Ben & Jerry’s and Pillsbury. Compelling such huge, complicit companies, through strategic and context-sensitive boycott and divestment campaigns, to end their complicity in Israeli apartheid and war crimes against Palestinians sends a very powerful message to hundreds of other complicit companies that “your time will come, so get out before it’s too late!”

Understanding Pregnancy Tests in Kuwait: A Comprehensive Guide
Navigating the journey of pregnancy can be both exciting and overwhelming. For many, it begins with a simple question: “Am I pregnant?” A pregnancy test is often the first step in finding an answer. In Kuwait, various options are available for those who suspect they might be expecting. This blog will guide you through the types of pregnancy tests, how they work, and where you can find them in Kuwait.
Types of Pregnancy Tests
There are two primary types of pregnancy tests: home tests and clinical tests.
1. Home Pregnancy Tests
Home pregnancy tests (HPTs) are widely available in pharmacies and supermarkets across Kuwait. These tests are designed for ease of use and provide results quickly—typically within a few minutes. Here's how they work:
How They Work: Home tests detect the presence of the hormone human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) in urine, which is produced shortly after a fertilized egg attaches to the uterine lining.
When to Test: For the most accurate results, it’s recommended to take the test after a missed period, although some tests can detect pregnancy a few days before your expected period. Testing first thing in the morning can also improve accuracy due to higher hCG concentrations in urine.
2. Clinical Pregnancy Tests
If you prefer a more definitive answer or if you receive a positive result from a home test, visiting a healthcare provider for a clinical test is advisable.
How They Work: Clinical tests, which may include blood tests or urine tests conducted in a medical facility, are more sensitive and can detect lower levels of hCG. Blood tests can confirm pregnancy earlier than urine tests, often within a week after conception.
Where to Get Tested: Various clinics, hospitals, and laboratories in Kuwait offer pregnancy testing services. You can visit a general practitioner, obstetrician, or a specialized women's health clinic for assistance.
Where to Buy Home Pregnancy Tests in Kuwait
Home pregnancy tests are readily available in various locations throughout Kuwait. Here are some common places where you can purchase them:
Pharmacies: Many local pharmacies, including popular chains like Al-Mutawa Pharmacy and Sultan Center Pharmacy, stock a variety of pregnancy tests. You can find both standard and digital options to suit your preference.
Supermarkets: Larger supermarkets such as Carrefour and Lulu Hypermarket often have a health and wellness section where pregnancy tests can be found.
Online Retailers: If you prefer the convenience of online shopping, websites like Souq.com (now part of Amazon) offer home pregnancy tests with delivery options across Kuwait.
Understanding the Results
Interpreting the results of a pregnancy test is straightforward, but it’s essential to follow the instructions provided with the test carefully. Generally, tests will show:
Positive Result: Two lines (or a plus sign) typically indicate pregnancy.
Negative Result: One line (or a minus sign) indicates that you are not pregnant.
Invalid Result: If no lines appear or if the test does not function correctly, it’s advisable to take another test or consult a healthcare provider.
When to Consult a Doctor
Regardless of the test result, there are circumstances when consulting a healthcare professional is recommended:
Positive Test Result: If the test indicates pregnancy, it’s important to schedule an appointment with a healthcare provider to discuss prenatal care and next steps.
Negative Test but Symptoms Persist: If you receive a negative result but still suspect pregnancy due to symptoms like missed periods, nausea, or fatigue, consider seeing a doctor for further evaluation.
Questions or Concerns: If you have questions about the testing process or need guidance regarding pregnancy, a healthcare provider can offer valuable support and resources.
Conclusion
Navigating the world of pregnancy test Kuwait can be a straightforward process with the right information. Whether you choose to use a home pregnancy test or visit a healthcare provider, understanding your options empowers you to make informed decisions about your health. If you suspect you might be pregnant, take the first step today and seek out a pregnancy test to uncover the exciting journey that lies ahead!
